GERMANY'S FIRST DIGITAL FOLK FESTIVAL - THE 2020 KELSTERBACH OLD TOWN FESTIVAL

The COVID-19 pandemic restricts us all in daily life. The events industry and hospitality sector have been particularly hard hit. This makes it all the more sensible to make major events available digitally during crisis-ridden times like these. The town of Kelsterbach near Frankfurt didn’t let the coronavirus crisis stop them, instead moving their annual Old Town Festival completely into the virtual space.

In September 2020, the town of Kelsterbach held its 3-day folk festival.
Interested parties could join the digital event via live stream and enjoy concerts, speeches, and creative performances from home. Using the hashtag “#ASFDaheim2020”, audience groups commented on the online event live.

The 2020 "Frankfurt Local Heroes" Festival by TAB e.V.

In September 2020, TAB e.V. – an initiative by Frankfurt creatives – organized an event to thank all Frankfurt residents who had done something special this year to keep the Main metropolis alive. In honor of these “Local Heroes,” the festival was completely digitized under the direction of Mainfilm production. The event was broadcast live on screens in many local venues and on home monitors.

These were among the first words at the Local Heroes Festival. The city of Frankfurt found a creative way to thank people without whom our society wouldn’t function. At the same time, artists from the Main metropolis were given a voice for their work.

The Splashl21 Music Festival 2018

Mainfilm enabled viewers to stream the 3-day Splash!21 Hip-Hop Music Festival from home in 2018. To experience Germany’s largest hip-hop festival virtually, concert enthusiasts purchased tickets through the digital platform Livyu. Eight cameras captured 16 concerts, featuring national artists like Vega and Afrob, in highest 4K quality.

Our crew handled artist rights for the stream, sponsorship, broadcast concept, and appropriate moderation for the multi-day major event. For all creatives, we delivered videos in 1:1, 9:16, and 16:9 formats so agencies could promote the content across all social media platforms.

The 2018 Online Concert with David Pfeffer and His Band

David Pfeffer’s concert was streamed via our Livyu platform, allowing fans to purchase tickets and virtually experience their favorite artist. From home, audiences could enjoy the concert through a 360° VR stream and navigate different spatial perspectives using control panels.

Eight cameras captured the digital concert experience, giving virtual attendees a 360° view. We incorporated text information and graphics that viewers could access via cursor control. They could also live-comment on the event and use “Yes”/”No” buttons to request encores, for example. All these interactive elements were integrated live into the 360° VR experience.

The 2017 BFF Streaming Night with the LOCHIS

At an exclusive fan event, YouTube stars Roman and Heiko Lochmann shared rare interviews and behind-the-scenes stories. Mainfilm Productions digitized the LOCHIS online event via the Livyu streaming platform, allowing home fans to participate.

The LOCHIS invited fans to their streaming event, entertaining them with music and comedy. A moderator guided both digital and on-site fans through the program. Our team captured this unique online fan event in premium TV quality.

2017 "Hauschka" Live Stream Concerts

Hauschka has established himself in the creative scene with his experimental piano compositions. Mainfilm Productions digitally presented his extraordinary concert experience via the Livyu online streaming platform. Interested audiences could purchase tickets for Hauschka’s virtual event on Livyu. We live-streamed Hauschka’s virtual performance from Berlin’s Funkhaus.

The First VR Concert Hall with Livyu

Mainfilm Productions pioneered the first VR concert hall. This interactive venue rivals physical arenas. The digital space lets audiences participate via avatars, communicate through social media, and interact digitally. Users control virtual bodies to grab and throw objects like tomatoes or teddy bears on stage.

The VR concert hall features spaces for merchandise booths and sponsors. The digital venue includes sponsor showrooms, refreshment stands, and 360° viewing. We also create online game zones with mini-games like basketball or boxing separate from the main event.

The Hybrid Launch Event for the Osteoporosis Action Alliance

The founding of the Osteoporosis Action Alliance deserves celebration. Members of this campaign aim to educate about osteoporosis, dispel myths and provide assistance. TV host Frauke Ludowig moderated the hybrid event. Former high jumper Heike Henkel served as testimonial. 50 attendees participated on-site while 1,000 viewers watched the live stream.

A Remote Production for Deutsche Bank

With travel restrictions, a pandemic and largely suspended air traffic, meeting in person became difficult. Yet this is exactly what Deutsche Bank wanted to achieve. The solution was our remote production setup. We shipped a camera to the recording location for the live stream and provided internet connectivity. Two guests discussed in real-time with zero latency: one located at Deutsche Bank’s headquarters, the other in a New York studio.

  2. Communicate the record date to shareholders no later than the fourth day before the meeting.
